Took this picture while out today.
I did not take that many pictures today but did get the chance to experiment more with the DR mode. I found out a few things to be aware of and will have to post a full day's entry on this feature. Other than that I am still impressed with the speed of the AF and operation of the CX1. I have posted another entry in my 'CX1 Review Diary' so do check it out if you want.

Noticepost on Bergmannstrasse

On my way out of Berlin, I decided to stop by Bergmannstrasse and stroll around. I first heard of this street during Photokina. Ricoh had two books from Stefan Maria Rother 'BERGMANNstrasse', a German photographer who used the two GRD cameras for his work. The books are worth checking out.

I decided to go there and do my own street and people photography to compare my style with his for fun. I planned of posting a series on it but going there early on a bank holiday is probably not the best starting point for people and street photography. I got some very nice shots none the less but found that this picture, for me, somehow embodies more the street and people who live and pass by there than any other picture I took and it does also not compete with the work of Stefan Maria Rother in any way.

I realized that I posted only street photos from Berlin but not a lot about the place as such. I will upload a Berlin Gallery on Dropbox by tomorrow and provide the link.

New World Odor

Had the GRD II along with me today. Took this picture while out for a walk near Brick Lane. I took a picture of the poster but was about to delete it when the guy came out and this made the picture for me so I chose it as the picture for today.

Today I finally made it to Leake Street, the new home for graffitti artists and unfortunatelly vandals alike. It is an interesting place right under Waterloo station where you can see some nice graffitti art but unfortunatelly also some stupid scribblings by talentless vandals. The guy in the picture is an artist so while I dislike stupid scribblings I agree with what he's doing and think it's cool. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.
I cropped the picture to the 1:1 format, removed some color noise and boosted the contrast a bit. The focus was on the cans and I wanted the guy in the background slighty out of focus and have some motion blur.
